Yoga refers to traditional physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines, originating in South Asia, whose goal is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility.

We at Amitabha Buddhist Society believe that a healthy nation exists only when the people living in that nation are healthy but there are people those who are either very poor that they don’t know about healthy living because of lack of education and even because people those who are educated but do not have time to pay attention towards their health. So we at ABS promote Yoga as it is a Scientific System of physical and mental excellence which requires obedience to certain rules, principle and methodology in order to acquire satisfactory results. But if these rules and principles are not followed it may cause reverse results, i.e. harm and injury to the body. Yoga helps in stress relief, pain relief, better breathing, flexibility and increased strength, weight management; focus on the present, inner peace. It gives inner powers, calmness, and satisfaction.

So we at ABS provide the classes and good instructors to teach all the steps of yoga and people will overcome with their myth that it is not just an exercise. The benefits of yoga are extensive. Not only does yoga affect the physical aspect of the body, it addresses the mind and spirit as well. Daily practice of yoga is a great way to help relieve the stress of your day and can bring a sense of well-being to your life. Even it gives inner potential to overcome egoistic nature.

We at ABS aim towards spreading the knowledge that with increased flexibility, strength and better posture. Another benefit of yoga is the increased body awareness. This heightened awareness tells you more quickly when you're slouching or slumping so you can adjust your posture.

Through practices of holding a variety of body positions or asanas, and the centering of the mind and breath in a meditative way, the practitioner increases body awareness, posture, flexibility of body and mind and calmness of spirit.

We at ABS have done deep study and got great experience with yoga and found out that Yoga is a scientific system of physical and mental practices that originated in India more than three thousand years ago. Its purpose is to help each one of us achieve our highest potential and to experience enduring health and happiness. With yoga, we can extend our healthy, productive years far beyond the accepted norm and, at the same time; improve the quality of our lives.

The regular practice of asanas, and breathing exercises (pranayama), makes the body strong, supple and healthy.
